Motion by Miner, second by Jecks to approve the minutes of the July 20, 2010 meeting.
Motion carried by voice acclamation.
Motion by Miner, second by Jecks to approve the August expenditures and July Treasurer’s report.

Communication/Recognition
· United Township High School District is holding an open house for their new alternative center August 25, 2010 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
· The Western Illinois University Masters Reading practicum course will be held in the Junior High again this year. Twelve Silvis Junior High School students will get extra help.
Bruce Maxey, Todd Cyrulik and John Maynerich with BLDD Architects, and Paul Neuharth from Estes Construction were present.
No public participation.
Motion by Jecks, second by Stone to approve the FY11 tentative budget and to set the date and time for the budget hearing as 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

Motion by Jecks, second by Stone to approve the Title I Parent Involvement Policy and Parent Compact, to approve the policy revisions and updates as provided by IASB, to approve the resignation of Lynn Sisul as special education aide/bus monitor and to approve the employment of Wendy Dorn as a 1.0 FTE special education aide, Melissa Gustafson as a 1.0 FTE special education aide, Tammy Dunlap-Valdes as a .5 FTE PreK aide, Stephanie Craig as a .5 FTE PreK aide, Sherry Lindell as a 1.0 FTE JH Science/Language Arts teacher, Audrey Webb as .24 FTE playground/ISS aide, Bernice Poston and Timothy Boyer as substitute bus monitors/drivers and Virginia Taylor as a regular route driver.

Pustelnik arrived at 5:22 p.m.
Bruce Maxey and Jon Maynerich with BLDD Architects and Paul Neuharth from Estes Construction gave the Board an update on the Middle School building construction project.
Michelle Pustelnik reported on the United Township High School/feeder district partner meeting. United Township High School would like feeder school 8th grade students to attend the UTHS Homecoming assembly and possibly have Student Council groups walk in the parade.
Motion by Stone, second by Jecks to adjourn the meeting at 6:01 p.m.
