CAFETERIA

OCTOBER 5, 2010

7:00 P.M.

Mr. Bergles introduced the school board members present to those in attendance.

Bruce Maxey and John Mayernich from BLDD Architects gave presentation on the building and materials used in the project.

Paul Neuharth and Steve Frank of Estes Construction, Greg Rykaert of Missman Stanley, and Dick VanRaes, Planner for the City of East Moline, were also present and answered questions.

·         Possibly resurfacing 4th Avenue A is still an item for discussion with the City of East Moline.

·         Exterior lights will be directed downward.

·         The easement is wide enough for two lanes of traffic.

·         Exterior lighting on athletic areas is not currently an issue as those areas are outside the scope of the current project.

·         The District is working on getting mowing done on the property.

·         Concerns about the dirt from the prior earth-moving project were expressed and Estes assured the residents that as construction managers, they would have control over the methods used by contractors during the project.

·         Construction is to begin March of 2011 with a fourteen month time line for completion.

·         Gravity flow sewage system will tie into the line near Morton Drive.

·         Detention ponds will drain out in a day and cannot drain any faster than it does presently as farm land.

·         Question about the name of the school – Board will make determination of how that will be handled at a later date.
